GSK ranked 5th in Newsweek’s 100 greenest global companies

GSK was ranked fifth out of 100 global companies in Newsweek magazine’s 2010 Green Rankings, achieving a green score of 94.18 out of 100. According to Newsweek, the aim was to assess each company’s actual environmental footprint and management of that footprint (including policies and strategies), along with its reputation among environmental experts.

CEO's environment, health and safety excellence awards

Andrew Witty, sponsors the GlaxoSmithKline Environment, Health and Safety Excellence Awards to acknowledge the contribution of people who have worked together to deliver outstanding improvements in environment, health and safety management or performance. 2009 Winners included a "Vanguard" award to the Nutritional Healthcare UK team for Ribena as a model of sustainability and to Pharmaceutical R&D team that develeped "Liquid Dispensing Technology", an innovative approach to manufacturing high potency medicines that protects employees and provides a revolutionary approach to making the final medicinal form.

CEO cancer gold standard

The CEO Cancer Gold Standard is a private sector public health initiative designed to fight cancer through employer-sponsored benefits and through a work culture that support health. This comprehensive workplace initiative has three major goals: prevention/risk reduction through lifestyle, early detection, and quality care.
