Worthing GMS site

The Worthing site is located close to the sea on England’s south coast. Manufacturing operations at the site commenced in 1960 and were the source of the first commercial batches of amoxycillin, clavulanic acid and formulated Augmentin, a product which still represents some 70% of the site’s business, and is exported to 140 worldwide markets.

Current manufacturing and supply from the Worthing Site includes a range of penicillin products, and technologies include fermentation, extraction, chemical synthesis, granulation, blending, tabletting, film-coating, powder filling and packaging.  The Worthing Site employs approximately 1,000 people working in a variety of manufacturing, technical and specialist support roles.
