There is a significant change to the way in which GSK's customers expect us to do business with them. We have to respond to this change to ensure success in the future by creating a simplified, regionalised, customer focused high performing supply chain within the European Pharmaceuticals business. A new supply chain organisation has been created to meet this challenge with a Supply Chain Hub (SCH) for demand forecasting, supply chain planning and replenishment, and sales and operation planning at the heart of the operation. The SCH is organised by therapy area with a member of each therapy team responsible for managing the Stock Keeping Units (SKUs) for a group of markets – there are six therapy areas and five market goupings covering all 35 European markets.
Within this team we have 2 Industrial Placement opportunities for the right individuals to play a pivotal role in the SCH. The successful candidates will:
- Support the analysis of sales data to allocate the most appropriate replenishment models to each of the products and the development of key performance indicators aligned to a range of supply chain improvement targets.
- Support the development and optimisation of the European forecasting process for 8000 SKU's in 35 markets.
- Support the replenishment of the 8,000 SKU's within our distribution channels.
- Identification of improvement opportunities using data analysis and interpretation.
- Support and contribute to supply chain improvement projects ranging from portfolio optimisation to working capital reduction.
- Working with our global supply network on cycle time improvements.
The opportunity is well matched for candidates with a Supply Chain/Logistics/Mathematical/Statistical background to enable them to gain practical experience of applying a variety of modelling tools and techniques to drive workplace improvements. To be effective in this role, candidates will need to have or be capable of developing a good understanding of supply chain dynamics.
